Speaking on the meaning of the song, Nevena said: ‘The video resonates with the current situation in which we found ourselves sort of frozen in time, lonely, lost in time and space where everything is slightly hypnotic and disoriented—stuck in waiting, going through the corridors of time with the hope that the doors will eventually open for us.As they will do.’

In the video, Nevena can be seen wearing a lacy floor length gown with red detailing across a sheer bodice.

The Serbian singer lies gracefully across a sofa as she belts out the song, before she can be seen running through the corridors of a concert hall and attempting to beat down the doors.

She revealed: ‘I wanted to take a classical piece and create an entirely new and original sound.

‘I enjoyed the creative process from the start, writing lyrics and working in the studio with producer Rupert Cross on bringing the current London club sound to the classical composition in an authentic way.

‘The video’s idea was to express the atmosphere and emotion and tell the story.I wanted to explore how far we can move standard classical crossover by bringing the edge to it.

‘In that sense,Adagio I am releasing today is entirely original peace where we used the existing famous classical tune but created a new sound of today’s London’s contemporary music scene.’

Nevena grew up under a largely communist regime, singing in bomb shelters during the Yugoslav Wars, before moving to London from Belgrade to study at the Guildhall School of Music. She is now a Lead Soloist of the National Theatre in Belgrade.

On her controversial blog, Nevena recounts her experience of bringing her and Andrew's four-month-old son Blake Perun to a reception at 10 Downing Street - during which she managed to snap a selfie with Theresa May

Tatler previously noted Mrs Bridgen has plenty of ‘zip and zing’ and is sure to make her mark on any social gathering.

In 2019 Mrs Bridgen made headlines with her Wives of Westminster blog, which provided a mix of political musings, property porn and a luxurious ‘aspirational’ shopping column showcasing designer items worth thousands of pounds.

It was also littered with beguiling photos of Nevena at a string of high profile events; posing with her husband at one of the Queen’s Buckingham Palace garden parties, pouting outside Chequers, grinning beside  at 10 Downing Street and preparing for a photoshoot in a stylish hotel.

The blog was lambasted by a number of politicans but Nevena staunchly defended her site, claiming she saw it as challenging stereotypes and her attempt to step ‘out of the shadow of the role that is given to you when you’re a political spouse’.

The blog offered advice to fellow ‘modern political spouses’, pointing out that nothing in their life is private if their other half is running or holding public office. Interviewees included Felicity Cornelius-Mercer, who is also on Tatler’s list.

Mr Bridgen separated from his first wife, Jackie, with whom he has two children, in 2011 and they later divorced. He and Nevena married in 2017 and have a child together.
